WATCH: Small fire at Panarottis, smoke causes panic at Ballito Junction
The fire was quickly contained with fire extinguishers.

Smoke billowed through the Ballito Junction this evening causing great alarm when a small fire broke out at one of the mall’s restaurants, a Panarottis franchise.
The restaurant, on the second floor in the food court, had to be evacuated.
Paramedics said no one had been injured.
“People ran outside on seeing the smoke but it was quickly contained by the mall’s security guards using fire extinguishers,” said IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst.
The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed.
Ballito Junction CEO Geraldine Jorgensen praised the mall’s security team for their reaction.*
“Mall security immediately responded to control the fire while customers were directed out of the restaurant.
“Emergency services were called on site and responded within minutes.”
She said investigations into the cause of the fire were underway.
The restaurant management could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
