Decomposed body of man found off Simbithi Drive, Ballito
"We went a little further and discovered his body which was very decomposed," said Mlungwana, who immediately called the KwaDukuza Fire and Emergency Services.
The severely decomposed body of a man was discovered by a man walking home from work on Monday evening.
Jabulani Mlungwana, who works in the maintenance department at a nearby housing complex said he was walking along Simbithi Drive with his colleague when they decided to take a short cut through the undergrowth near the top of the road.
“In the past there was a local homeless man who we used yo see around here. He lived in that undergrowth and would often come to the complex where I work looking for food. I have not seen him for a long time and on Monday after I finished work at around 3.50pm I decided on impulse to go and do a spot check in the vicinity where I used to see him.”

According to Umhlali spokesperson Vinny Pillay the identity of the man could not be determined due to the advanced state of decomposition.
Umhlali police have opened an inquest docket and a post mortem would be conducted to determine the cause of death.
