Eskom could go higher than stage 2 this Friday at a moment’s notice
Stage 2 loadshedding will start at 9am today and will continue through to 11pm tonight.

Eskom has warned that stage 2 loadshedding implemented at 9am today could be upgraded to a higher stage if any unexpected shifts arise in the power grid.
According to the utility service, breakdown levels were measured at 11 996MW this morning at 6.30am.
“We continue to use diesel for our open cycle gas turbines and water at pumped storage schemes to supplement capacity,” Eskom said.
It was said that an update will be provided later in the day detailing any plans of possible loadshedding for the weekend.
Rotational loadshedding stage 2 will begin today from 9am and will continue through to 11pm tonight.
“The emergency response command centre continues to monitor the situation and the focus is to reduce unplanned breakdowns to below 9 500MW to enable us to minimise and to stop loadshedding in the following week,” said Eskom.
Loadshedding schedule for Friday, December 13:
Ballito (KwaDukuza southern network): 2pm through to 4.30pm and again from 10pm to 00.30am
Stanger (KwaDukuza northern network): 6pm through to 8.30pm
Mandeni: 4pm to 6.30pm
Tongaat: 10am through to noon
