Rough seas and gale force winds set to lash coast

The South African Weather Service issued two separate weather warnings today, warning of gale force winds and rough sea conditions.

The South African Weather Service has today warned of extremely dangerous sea conditions stretching along the majority of the South African coastline.

According to the SA Weather Service, heavy swells in excess of 4m are expected between Port Edward and Kosi Bay.

The dangerous conditions are expected to last until later this evening around 9pm.

Exacerbating the issue is the arrival of a strong South-Westerly wind along the majority of the country’s coastline from Plettenberg Bay through to Richards Bay.

The strong South-Westerly is said to bring with it gale-force winds howling at between 65 to 88km/h.
