Loadshedding to continue until Monday morning – Eskom

Eskom has yet to confirm whether loadshedding will continue into the week.

Stage 2 loadshedding will keep your air-conditioners and lights working intermittently until 5am on Monday, January 6.

According to the Eskom media desk, the conveyer belt at the Medupi power station has been repaired and power is being fed back into the grid, however backup fuels such as diesel have been depleted as a result of the original fault.

Eskom said loadshedding was necessary to prevent a total collapse of the electricity grid.

As a result, the Stanger northern grid will be off today from 10am to 12.30pm and 6pm to 8.30pm

The Ballito southern grid will be off from 6pm to 8.30pm and early tomorrow morning from 2am to 4.30am.

Mandeni’s loadshedding ends at 12.30pm today and not experience any further power losses.

Tongaat CBD will also not experience any further load shedding until 5am if Eskom remains at stage 2.

If loadshedding stage 2 does continue past 5am tomorrow morning, the Tongaat area will be without power from 3pm to 4pm and 10pm to midnight, while Mandeni will feel the power loss from 10am to 12.30pm.

Ballito may also have load shedding from 2pm to 4.30pm on Monday.
