Stage two loadshedding to continue until Friday
Eskom lost additional generating capacity overnight, increasing breakdowns to 14 000MW.

Eskom says stage two loadshedding had to be started today due to the national grid being “severely constrained”.
Loadshedding began at 8am this morning and will continue until tomorrow 6am.
Eskom lost additional generating capacity overnight, increasing breakdowns to 14 000MW.
“Our emergency reserves are also insufficient to meet the demand for electricity during the day,” Eskom said.
“We continue to ask customers to reduce demand as a concerted collective effort can help to avoid or reduce the level of loadshedding,” said Eskom.
