Eskom switches to stage 3 from 9am

The failing power utility in a statement released this morning explained that although several of the units had been returned to operational capacity last night, loadshedding had to be implemented to replenish emergency reserves.

Eskom is ramping up loadshedding today in an effort to claw back the capacity lost while units were undergoing maintenance.

The failing power utility said this morning that although several of the units had been returned to operational capacity last night, loadshedding had to be implemented to replenish emergency reserves.

The latest bout of loadshedding, according to Eskom, will start today at 9am and continue until Monday morning at 5am.

This is how the power utility’s clients will be affected today:

Ballito: 10pm – 00.30am (Saturday into Sunday) 6am – 8.30am (Sunday) 4am – 5am (Monday)

Stanger: 2pm  – 4.30pm and again from 10pm – 00.30am (Saturday) 6am – 8.30am and again from 10.30pm – 00.30am (Sunday into Monday) and again on Monday morning from 4am to 5.30am.

Tongaat CBD: 10am – 12pm (Saturday) 2am – 4am and again from 6am – 8am (Sunday)

Mandini (16): 8am -10.30am (Saturday) midnight – 2.30am, 8am – 10.30am and again frrom 4pm – 6.30pm (Sunday).
