Risk of loadshedding high this Thursday as Eskom conducts repairs

The risk of loadshedding today remains high following the loss of additional generating units at the struggling power utility which has said that units were undergoing emergency repairs.

The system remains constrained and vulnerable and, any unpredictable shift in emergency reserves could lead to loadshedding at short notice.

Yesterday – Wednesday – unplanned outages and breakdowns were measured at 11 773MW while planned maintenance was captured at 4 602MW.

The utility has again appealed to its clients to use electricity sparingly.

Should loadshedding be implemented today, the stage and time will be broadcast.
