New lease on life for Thompson’s tidal pool
Acting mayor for KwaDukuza, Cllr Dolly Govender, said she was especially proud of the makeover and thanked Balwin for their contribution to the North Coast.
Thompson’s Bay has been given a new lease on life thanks to Balwin Properties.
The lifeguard hut and facilities have spent the last few months under rehabilitation as major groundworks have been undertaken by the developer to revamp and refresh the building.
Apart from new bathroom hardware, a new roof and a fresh set of tiles, the drainage systems and stormwater management has been attended to, as well as sewage management.
Acting mayor for KwaDukuza, Cllr Dolly Govender, said she was especially proud of the makeover and thanked Balwin for their contribution to the North Coast.
“Thompson’s Bay is a premier tourist attraction and we hope to extend this throughout the North Coast,” said Govender.
The facility will be maintained and looked after by Balwin Properties following their recent development of Ballito Hills.
Democratic Alliance Ward 6 councillor Tammy Colley welcomed the revamp and displayed a positive outlook for the future of Thompson’s Bay.
“While Balwin will maintain the building, keeping things in order is a social responsibility,” said Colley.
