Taxi rank gets thorough cleaning as precaution against coronavirus

Following a meeting with the Dolphin Coast Taxi Association on Monday, March 16, a sanitation station was erected at the Ballito Taxi Rank, operated free by local cleaning company Xtreme Cleaning.

Taxis were deep cleaned and local investors hope that interventions such as these send a strong message that, coupled with individual conformance, even small operators are conducting business in a responsible way.

“As a collective and individual members, we need to take all the necessary precautions to provide reassurance to shoppers, diners, patrons, buyers, investors and clients that our district remains responsibly open for business,” said iLembe Chamber of Commerce CEO Cobus Oelofse.

“These interventions are not a burden that the private sector can and should carry on their own, and we will be liaising with officials and decision makers to ensure an appropriate response.”
