Missing fisherman’s body found – Tongaat

The partially submerged body of the fisherman was found entangled in gill netting.

The corpse of a local fisherman who was reported missing after he failed to return home on Friday, April 3, was recovered this morning at Dudley Pringle Dam in Tongaat.

The search party first found the man’s netting, clothes and cellphone on Friday.

According to Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) head Nazir Sadack, the search by numerous rescue teams continued through the weekend.

Search and rescue personnel cleared a pathway through the water hyacinth that had covered the surface of the boat launch site.

According to Sadack, K9 dog Dante found the partially submerged body of the fisherman tangled in gill netting.

“The body of a man (between 35 and 38) was was found following a missing persons report filed after he failed to return home on Friday,” said Sadack.
