Hot meals for front line personnel
The initiative driven by Paul Marsh and Barry Chapman has seen the community rallying together to provide a daily free meal to the emergency services personnel on the front lines in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
Dolphin Coast residents have once again demonstrated real community spirit by pulling together to support Umhlali SAPS during the lockdown.
The initiative driven by Paul Marsh and Barry Chapman has seen the community rallying together to provide a daily free meal to the emergency services personnel on the front lines in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
“When Captain Pillay approached me with this request we reached out to the farming and town community,” said March.
With the lockdown the Public Order Policing and Crime Prevention units have joined forces with Umhlali’s Saps detectives and K9 unit to ensure the region adheres to the restrictions.
“Every day we provide a free meal to our emergency services in recognition and appreciation of the effort that is being made by each and every one of them during this challenging time,” Marsh said.
The collective effort and generosity from individuals and companies has paid off, ensuring a wholesome meal is provided to approximately 50 personnel a day, cooked by volunteers.
