Ballito Woolworths promises to reopen within 48 hours with new staff after positive Covid-19 test
The store will be closed today for deep-cleansing.
The Woolworths Foodmarket at Lifestyle Centre in Ballito has closed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.
“We were notified by Woolworths South Africa late on Wednesday evening, that due to a positive Covid-19 test being received for one of the store’s employees, the Woolworths Foodmarket has been closed with immediate effect,” said Lifestyle Centre co-owner Bruce Rencken.
The store will be closed today for deep-cleansing.
Woolworths will be bringing in a new team of staff and will be operational again within the next 48 hours.
“Woolworths have been exemplary implementing and enforcing Covid-19 protocol at the store so this is most unfortunate. We wish their staff member a full recovery,” said Rencken.
Rencken assured the public that Lifestyle Centre and all their tenants would continue to be vigilant and proactive with regard to the health and safety of customers and staff.
“The strictest hygiene and social distancing measures, as well as meticulous tenant protocols, will be adhered to so that our customers can continue to feel safe shopping at Lifestyle Centre,” said Rencken.
The Ballito Junction Regional Mall based branch of Woolworths also closed last Friday after an employee tested positive for Covid-19.
