Successful sales are important, but relationships between clients and businesses matter more.
This is the message Hirsch’s Ballito discussed during the recent Entrepreneurs Workshop under the topic ‘Sales Matter’.
The workshop was held virtually with Hirsch’s executive director Margaret Hirsch and business coach, Marlene Powell.
Powell is an award winning business coach with Action Coach.
The duo gave their own spin on the importance of marketing and sales relationships of fledgling and well-established entrepreneurs.
“If you think of selling as giving – advice, assurance, piece of mind – and not taking – someone’s hard earned cash – then you cannot go wrong,” said Margaret.
Other speakers included owner of Bloom Marketing, Nox Magwasa and Jon Loper, owner of kitchenware company, Compreforce.
The Entrepreneurs Workshop will continue with the same theme on July 31 between 11am and midday.
Speakers will include Cindy Norcott, owner of PRO Talent and founder of the Robin Hood Foundation.
Managing director and founder of Atomic Marketing, Nuno Lopes will also speak about Marketing on a Shoestring.
At the most recent workshop, Nox, who left the corporate world on a high note to start her own successful marketing company explained how sales and marketing coexist.
She pointed out that digital marketing was trending and was likely to do so for some time.
“Make sure you have a solid marketing strategy – you cannot sell without one. Sell the benefits of the product. Tell a story about the brand – telling brand stories is the power of marketing.”
