Eskom cancels planned loadshedding for Sunday
The electrical grid remains severely constrained.
Your Sunday won’t be filled with darkness – this following an update from state-owned electricity provider, Eskom which said that emergency reserves would sustain the country’s electrical demand.
On Sunday morning it was said that emergency reserves had replenished sufficiently overnight.
The electrical grid remains severely constrained.
Eskom asked customers to continue using electricity sparingly, and reduce consumption.
“We currently have 8 229MW on planned maintenance, while another 10 661MW of capacity is unavailable due to unplanned maintenance.
“Eskom teams are working around the clock to return as many of these units to service as soon as possible.”
Loadshedding was warned of last week following a breakdown of several units, with a large number being out on planned maintenance.
Further breakdowns resulted in loadshedding on Saturday.
