All women company praised for repair of Sheffield Drive
Salt Rock councillor Privi Makhan paid tribute to the company tasked with the repair, noting that the handover could not have come at a better time with the celebration of Women's Month.
An all-woman owned company has been praised for their sterling efforts in the repair of Sheffield Drive/Barrier Road.
Started by Groutville resident, Mdu Mhlongo, Njomco Enterprises were awarded the contract to repair the roadway which had plagued motorists periodically for more than 7 years.
Some 20 months ago the road collapsed partially, further collapsing following heavy rains.
The 8-month repair job was completed last month at a cost of R1.7 million.

She praised Njomco Enterprises for their quality repair of the roadway.
Mhlongo, CEO of Njomco Enterprises said she was exceptionally grateful for being awarded the contract by KwaDukuza municipality.
“As a young black woman I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. I would also like to thank local residents for their patience during the repair,” she said.
