Spring proves a blossoming affair at Summerhill House fashion show fundraiser

Summerhill House’s Bright and Beautiful fashion show last week was a riot of colour and style.

The fundraiser was well supported by locals decked out in their finest spring outfits in the fitting garden setting at Braeside.

Summerhill House is a children’s home for orphaned and displaced children in Etete which provides a home, a sense of family and a safe space to be children.

Founded 14 years ago by Salt Rock resident Paula Owen with the help of like-minded Etete local Esther Lynn, the home also helps with basic needs such as applying for identity documents and government grants.

Owen thanked the individual people and businesses who made the event possible.

“To our producer, to all of our sponsors and designers in clothing and décor, to our gorgeous models and dancers, to our make up artists and hair stylist, to our entertainer and host, to our incredible prize and gift donors, to the media who attended, to the friends who gave of their time, to management and staff at our fantastic venue, to our food and beverage providers, to the joyful crowd who attended and to our united and enthusiastic staff team… a very big thank you from Summerhill House.”
