Thirteen talented musicians sang their hearts out, but only 3 could go through to the finals in Ballito Junction’s Rising Talent Festival music competition.
In a series of live performances, kids and teens showcased their talents with the hope of gaining the favour of judges.

If chosen, they would head through to the finals where they stand the chance of winning R25 000.

In the second part of the competition last Saturday, the show-stopping performance was by Fazlyn Naidoo who brought Giacomo Puccini’s ‘O mio babbino caro’ to life with her powerful voice, wowing the audience.

Asked about her choice of song, Fazlyn said she had fallen in love with classical music this past year and thought she would give it a try.

Judges commended her for her stellar performance and also suggested she try something more modern.

Fazlyn, a 16 year old who attends Crawford International North Coast secured her position in the finals, followed by Kyra de Maudave Bestel and choir group, Voices of Angels.

They will be joined by a wildcard entry into the finals, set to be announced on Ballito Junction’s social media platforms this Friday.
