Cupcakes galore as North Coast bakers take to supporting Cupcakes of Hope
More than R500 000 was raised nationally for the non-profit, which raises awareness and funds for families affected by cancer.
If this past weekend proved anything, it is that cupcakes make for the sweetest way to save a life.
In line with Childhood Cancer Awareness month, celebrated in September, cupcakes were baked and sold across the North Coast.
These sales formed part of a larger operation, held at 20 malls across the country in conjunction with Cupcakes of Hope.
More than R500 000 was raised nationally for the non-profit, which raises awareness and funds for families affected by cancer.
Diana Brett of Sotheby’s Realty, who headed the cupcake sale day at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre said they were astounded by the community’s support.
Meanwhile, at Tiffany’s Shopping Centre Liz Major managed to rally some 15 bakers to make cupcakes for the day.
Feeling inspired by Cupcakes of Hope, Liz said they baked more than 750 cupcakes in 2 days, all beautifully decorated.
