Ballito SPCA Dog Box is barking mad for pre-loved goods

The SPCA Dog Box, one of Ballito’s favourite stores and a crucial fundraiser for the Durban & Coast SPCA, has reopened.

Residents of Ballito can get everything they were used to at the old store, now at The Balvista Centre in Ballito Village.

Volunteers and contractors have been hard at work, ensuring that the offering remains consistent with what has made the Dog Box such a beloved store.

“We had a fantastic first day, with long queues of customers and over R9 000 in takings, an all-time record for the 5th of the month and a Tuesday!”

“Thank you to everyone who came out to support,” said SPCA marketing manager, Tanya Fleischer.

Of particular note is that all books are on sale for just R20, enabling you to kit out your home library with popular classics and lesser known finds for a fraction of the price of new.

“We are not going to be taking non-fiction books anymore, unfortunately, because space is a little bit limited in the new location. Please do still donate fiction books or children’s books which are in good condition!”

The Dog Box accepts donations of a number of items, including homeware, clothing and other useful trinkets.

Please make sure that anything you are donating is still in good, usable condition.

The Dog Box will not accept anything that is broken, dirty or any forms of pornography.

The Dog Box is open from 10am – 2pm on Monday through Friday, as well as from 9am – 12pm on Saturdays.
