Stage 2 loadshedding as emergency reserves depleted ‘faster than expected’
There is a high probability of loadshedding continuing over the weekend.

Emergency reserves have run out, bringing stage 2 loadshedding into effect from 9pm this evening.
Loadshedding will continue until 5am tomorrow.
“To continue replenishing the emergency generation reserves, which have been depleted in order to keep the lights on during business hours, loadshedding will be repeated on Friday from 9pm to Saturday, 5am,” Eskom said.
Further breakdowns of generating units at Tutuka, Grootvlei and Kendal have also added to Eskom’s woes.
Eskom warned that should reserves not recover sufficiently come the weekend, loadshedding might continue during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
Here are your times:
Mandini: 4am to 5am
Tongaat Central: 10pm to midnight
Tongaat Beach: 10pm to midnight
Ballito Southern Grid (Tinley Manor to Ballito & Zimbali): No loadshedding expected
Stanger Northern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zinkwazi): 2am to 4.30am
