Orphan Fund high tea at Waterberry proves to be a floral affair
The 'floral affair' themed annual event raised more than R23 400 for orphans and vulnerable children within the newspaper's circulation area.
It felt like spring had come early last Friday when 90 ladies descended on Waterberry Coffee Shoppe in support of The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund’s High Tea.

Ballito artist Natalie Deeb donated an original artwork which was painted in aid of the event and auctioned off on the day.

Guest speakers Jess Basson, Kgomotso Ndungane and Lesego Mpyana each encouraged the women with stories from their own lives.

There was barely a dry eye in the house.

Waterberry Coffee Shoppe generously donated the cost of the catering.

Orphan Fund coordinator Mpume Vilakazi said she was overjoyed at the success of the event.

“The women of Ballito are always incredibly generous, enabling us to fulfill our mandate on the North Coast.”

Special thanks to sponsors Waterberry Coffee Shoppe, Suzuki | Mitsubishi Ballito, Karen Mackridge Photography, Umhlanga Sands Resort, LeLaPa, Simbithi Eco-Estate and Country Club and Virgin Active Ballito.
