Ayoba time for the blue blitz
Orphaned at a young age, Ayoba has been living at the haven near Ntshawini for as long as he can remember.
On Tuesday, June 14, the life of young Safe Haven for Children and Elders resident Ayoba changed drastically.
For the first time in his life the young man experienced the gift of mobility.
But what the child with the bright smile and lively personality will forever remember is the cool blue wheelchair he received from the Women’s International Zionist Organisation (WIZO). Make way Usain Bolt, Ayoba is now on the move.
WIZO engages in development programmes specifically focusing on women and children and has been a beneficiary of The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund since 2019.
After enquiring how the Orphan Fund could help, coordinator of WIZO Wheelchairs of Hope and Ballito’s Paula Green saw to the donation of the wheelchair specifically tailored for Ayoba’s needs.
Safe Haven is managed by Rose Zwane and her helpers who look after the needs of seven children and four pensioners who suffer from various disabilities.
