Young Ndwedwe farmer sows seeds of knowledge

Mhlengi Ngcobo is passionate about skills development and helping young people who want to get into farming.

Young farmers gathered in Ndwedwe last Friday to share ideas, success stories and help each other with ideas of accessing markets.

Upcoming farmers Nozipho Khathi, Sbusiso Khumalo and Zama Mhlongo.

The farmer’s day was hosted by young Maphumulo-born farmer Mhlengi Ngcobo at his Boyane Agri Farm.

He said this was his way of celebrating Youth Month.

Mhlengi Ngcobo explains the mechanics of hydroponic farming.

“The aim is to empower those from underprivileged communities through skills transfer on open field and hydroponics systems farming. One of the key factors that motivated me to host this event was to promote unity and also build our own cartel as black farmers,” said Ngcobo.

Government institutions also presented services available to assist small businesses.
