Car catches fire at Ballito home engulfing garage in flames
Swift response to the blaze saw it extinguished in less than 20 minutes since the alert went out.
At around 7.40am this morning a WhatsApp alert went out on a local emergency group about a fire at a Minerva Road, Ballito home.
A car parked in the garage on the property had somehow caught fire and flames soon engulfed the garage.
The billowing smoke tipped off neighbours, who alerted authorities before jumping in to rescue pets on the property.
It is understood the residents of the home are away for the day.
No injuries were reported and the blaze was extinguished at around 8am by the KwaDukuza Fire Department.
