A swing at a brighter future at the Orphan Fund golf day
A youth coaching clinic is made possible by a R10 000 donation from Zimbali Lakes, who are one of the main sponsors of the golf day.
An exciting clinic for young first-time golfers will set the tone for The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund golf day later this month.
Around 20 underprivileged children from the Enduduzweni Drop In Centre in Melville will get the opportunity of receiving private coaching at Umhlali Country Club.
A few hours before the main event tees off, the children, who are mostly in their early teens, will learn everything they can about the sport in a short space of time.
“We wanted to do something different and give these children an introduction to golf. We will also be building our own golf course in time and are looking for longer term development programmes going forward,” said Zimbali Lakes general manager, Wayne Krambeck.
“Aside from actually playing golf, we hope this will also show the wide range of careers within the sport that are on offer,” he said.
