Rescue teams share skills at Sugar Rush Park
The focus on the day was to allow attendees to become familiar with and understand the strict safety measures needed while doing rope work in rescue situations at height.
A successful training day for various emergency services personnel was held at Tree Trails at Sugar Rush Park recently.
Services involved were IPSS Medical, IPSS Search and Rescue, S.T.A.R.T, National Sea Rescue Institute and Netcare 911.
New volunteers had their first rescue training sessions under the guidance of experienced rescue technicians and the different teams trained together and shared skills.
S.T.A.R.T plans to host more regular training days focusing on different aspects of search and rescue where knowledge is shared across services.
