Nkobongo Resource Centre celebrates young women on Mandela Day
South Africans devote 67 minutes to helping others - 67 minutes to mark the 67 years that Mandela spent fighting for justice, equality and human rights for all.
Every year millions of people across the globe celebrate Nelson Mandela’s birthday on July 18.
This year, the Nkobongo Resource Centre hosted a Girls Day in collaboration with the Zimbali Estate Foundation, and invited 67 local girls to join in the celebrations.

Dance teacher Julie Robert led the girls in a fun dance routine before gynaecologist Dr Nombuso Mthethwa shared an uplifting and practical message with the girls.
She reminded each young woman that they were loved, powerful and created for greatness.
Her sex education talk was well received by the audience, who were reminded on the importance of making good choices to protect their lives and futures.

The Zimbali Estate Foundation donated eats and a goody bag to each young girl, filled with items to fulfill their daily personal needs.
