Grand opening of barn shop at Ballito’s Collisheen Estate

Co-owner Megan Allan said they had run a second-hand business called 'Craigs Seconds' for three years, but the shop was small and they had only five storerooms of goods.

The public arrived in numbers for the official opening of the The Vintage Barn, which included a car boot sale last Saturday.

The event was an exciting one for owners Craig and Megan Allan of Craig’s Van, who spent three months refurbishing an old barn at Collisheen Estate.

“We have had a dream of opening a vintage barn for many years. We wanted to create a hybrid of an American-style “Route 66″ farm stall, and a good old-fashioned South African ‘padstal’.”

The place offers a delightful mix of old and new, from furniture to roller skates. They have vintage, new and second-hand items and man cave goods.

“As part of our marketing initiative, we will also soon be embarking on reviving the North Coast Meander, which was attempted some years back. We have already set this in motion and interested parties can contact me at 083 797 1980,” said Megan.
