Ballito’s Lions Club has a new presidents as Paul Naidoo bids farewell
The evening also served to give back to the community in the form of two cheque handovers to notable community organisations.
The Lions Club of Ballito inducted Ken Chapman as its new president at Saturday’s induction dinner at Umhlali Country Club.
He takes over the reins from outgoing president Paul Naidoo.
Cheques of R5 000 were handed to The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund’s Rose Stephenson and Ballito Neighbourhood Watch’s Madeleine Hayhurst.

Chapman said it was a great honour to serve as president.
“My wife Sandy and I have been involved with Lions projects for several years and have fond memories of helping with a number of projects. While each president brings his or her unique passions and perspectives to Lions, there has been a single constant that unites all of us as Lions – service,” he said in his acceptance speech.

He thanked Naidoo for his support and guidance over the past year and for his service and leadership to the Ballito Lions.
To celebrate distinguished and unselfish service to the community, a trophy was awarded to Selvan Govender.
