Auctioning art for a good cause

Held by Reddam House Ballito, the auction raised more than R75 000.

More than R75 000 was raised for the Sustainable Seas Trust last Friday at an art auction held at Reddam House Ballito.

Organised by art teacher, Meghan Pratten, the auction offered artworks created by the school’s students. The event also served as the school’s first charity art auction.

Pratten said they would like to see the event become an annual one which would also be open to schools outside the Reddam group on a regional basis.

Setting the tone, the auction included an artwork by Ashton International College Ballito pupil, Pia Naidoo, titled Aquatic World – a depiction of whales flying in the sky.
