Mandeni traffic officer kills girlfriend, then turns gun on himself

The shooter was treated by advanced life support paramedics, but he died on the way to hospital.

A 30-year-old Mandeni female traffic officer was shot and killed by a colleague and alleged boyfriend in Sundumbili last night.

After shooting the woman, the traffic cop turned the gun on himself.

According to Dylan Meyrick of IPSS Medical Rescue, it appears as if the 35-year-old shooter pulled his gun during an argument.

“On arrival, paramedics found the man and woman lying in the road, both with single gunshot wounds to the head. Paramedics assessed the female and she was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene,” Meyrick said.

“The man was still breathing,” treated by advanced life support paramedics, but died on the way to hospital.”
