Miss Ballito finalists announced
The Zimbali Rotary Club has raised more than R850 000 to date through the pageant.
Eight radiant Miss Ballito hopefuls have secured their positions as finalists for the annual Rotary Club of Zimbali’s fundraising initiative.
While the date of the crowning event is yet to be announced, the finalists will in the meantime undergo training sessions with life coaches to hone their skills before the big night.
Vying for the prestigious Miss Ballito title will be Beth Green, Chloe Craig, Fikile Ndunakazi, Hané van der Merwe, Kayla Cleminshaw, Lindile Khumalo, Michelle Nxumalo and Shaye Caldecott.
The comprehensive training programme not only prepares the finalists for the competition, but also equips them with essential skills relating to community projects and fundraising.
Miss Ballito coordinator, Heidie Smith said they were very excited about this year’s pageant. “We welcome out eight finalists to the Miss Ballito tribe as they get started on helping with community projects, outreach programs and other efforts to make a difference in our community.”
The Rotary Club of Zimbali has successfully raised more than R850 000 to date through the pageant.
Notable campaigns included the Brite Eyes initiative, which organised a cataract surgery camp in Stanger and Maphumulo in partnership with the iLembe health department, where 1 004 cataract surgeries have been performed
Other commendable charities such as Summerhill House, the Rex the Rhino Conservation Fund and The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund are also supported.
