Nurture iLembe nurtures recovery through sport

The sports day at Nurture iLembe was held in support of Casual Day.

Ballito-based Nurture Health iLembe rehabilitation centre held a sports day in support of Casual Day last Friday when dozens of patients participated in a variety of sports.

This year marked the third staging of the annual event, which is co-organised by Nurture Health iLembe and its occupational therapist, Lucia de Almeida.

A variety of activities were enjoyed by patients, including ring tosses, ball kicking and bean bag tosses, to name a few.

Supported by Nurture Health iLembe employee Faith Khati, Jabulile Nxumalo enjoys the ball kicking activity.

Casual Day is the country’s national fundraising effort for people with disabilities.

Nurture Health iLembe occupational therapist Nontokozo Sibiya with patient, Premilla Deonarain, who scored 16 points in the ring toss category.
