Protec Tongaat bids farewell to long-serving managers Marion Takis and Mark Tucker

Protec Tongaat bid farewell to two of its leading managers, Marion Takis and Mark Tucker, last Friday.
Alumni, donors and board members gathered at the Tongaat Hulett offices for a surprise farewell party to honour and celebrate their significant contributions.

During the event, speakers shared heartfelt stories and testimonies, portraying Takis and Tucker as sources of inspiration for many.
Protec is a non-profit organisation that focuses on providing extra-curricular, high-quality education and career support programmes in mathematics, science, technology, English and life skills training for the world of work.
Takis served as the manager of Protec Tongaat for 22 years.
Tucker worked as head of human resources at Tongaat Hulett and chair of the Protec Tongaat board for 32 years.

Balan Moodley, the CEO of Protec, conveyed his gratitude through Fannie Matumba, the general operations manager, who read his message.
He extended sincere thanks to the departing duo for their invaluable contributions in elevating Tongaat as the flagship branch within Protec.

Moodley highlighted the profound impact Takis and Tucker had on the branch, emphasising their role in pioneering numerous ideas that reverberated throughout the organisation.
He expressed appreciation to all attendees for their collective efforts in fostering a culture of excellence within the organisation.

The farewell event served not only as a moment to bid farewell but also as an opportunity to reflect on the legacy they have left behind.
