#Letter UIP staff praised for spotless Ballito promenade
UIP security keeps promenade walkers feeling secure.
Ballito resident Theuns Koekemoer writes:
I am someone who enjoys taking early morning walks on the Ballito promenade.
One of the reasons that I love doing this is because UIP security is always on duty, making me feel safe.
Additionally, the UIP cleaners do their job early in the morning around 6am, ensuring that the beach area is clean and inviting.
Sometimes, after a public holiday, heavy rains and high sea levels the beach area needs a major clean-up, and it is always a pleasure to see that the UIP staff have done an excellent job in making the area look spotless.
As a frequent walker on the Ballito promenade, I would like to express my gratitude to the UIP, their staff and the funders who make this possible.
It is my understanding that the UIP is mainly funded by a separate rate paid by some Ballito commercial business owners, as well as more than 25 beachfront residential schemes.
The budget for this and some other services are more than R15m per year.
