BREAKING: At least six churchgoers killed in horrific bus crash near Mandeni
The bus left the highway and rolled down a steep embankment.
At least five women and one man have died in a bus accident on the N2 between the Mandeni Toll and Tugela River.
The accident happened just after 4pm this afternoon and emergency services are still working at the scene.
The N2 is closed in both directions.
The 82-seater bus, understood to be carrying churchgoers, left the highway and rolled down a steep embankment.
According to Samantha Meyrick of IPSS Medical Rescue, multiple people, including children, were seriously injured.
Traffic is affected and motorists are urged to take alternative routes.
