Three-year-old boy airlifted after Sheffield accident

The toddler is a resident of the Taffeni informal settlement.

A three-year-old boy from the Taffeni informal settlement in Sheffield had to be airlifted after being hit by a car on the P228 this morning.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Samantha Meyrick, paramedics arrived to find the toddler in a critical condition and the decision was made to call an AMS helicopter.

The boy was rushed to a suitable trauma facility.

The P228 is the road which runs between Salt Rock Road and the Tinley Manor link road.

In November last year, a motorbike delivery driver was killed in an accident on a similar stretch of the road as this morning’s accident.
