Eight hour blackout to affect Ballito this week
KwaDukuza municipality has warned that wards 6 and 30 will be affected.
Residents of Ballito will face an eight-hour power outage on Thursday as KwaDukuza electricity teams carry out vital maintenance on the Ballito substation.
The municipality says both wards 6 and 30 will experience a planned power outage from 8am to 4pm.
The affected areas include Simbithi and Ballito Drive, including Compensation Beach Road, Dolphin Crescent, Willard Beach, Ballito Village, Salmon Bay, Avondale area, Townsend Park and Zimbali and Seward estates.
Ward 6 councillor Ayabonga Zwane urged residents and businesses to plan accordingly.
“This type of maintenance ensure that the substation equipment is operating at optimal level, reducing energy losses and improving overall efficiency,” said Zwane.
