Provincial prizes for Floral Art Club duo
Careen Tait and Anne Tramontino both recently earned Merit Awards, KZN's highest floral honour.
The Dolphin Coast Floral Art Club is celebrating two members who have recently received KZN’s highest floral honour – the Merit Award.
It has been several years since a member last received the prestigious title, making the achievements of Careen Tait and Anne Tramontino over the past three months all the more remarkable.
More recently, the club enjoyed a demonstration by floral expert Sandra Pillay on ‘Design and Interpretation in Floral Art’. Pillay’s mantra of “less is more” asked members to rethink their design outlook and consider the weight of each individual element in an arrangement, balancing movement, scale and colour.
The monthly club competition was in stark contrast to the demonstration however, calling on members to embrace bold designs in the Rococo style. Five standout arrangements were created.
Flower enthusiasts wishing to join the club can contact Carol Ayres at 076 754 2690.
