Ballito Junction’s ‘Awe of Magic’ brings festive cheer and family fun this December

Festive decorations and photo spots have been added alongside extended operating hours at the mall.

Ballito Junction has officially switched on the sparkle for the holidays with ‘Awe of Magic’, a month-long festive showcase filled with colour, creativity and plenty of family fun.

Shoppers can expect eye-catching décor, playful installations and interactive photo spots throughout the mall. The highlight is the Photos with Santa experience (December 5-24 on Level 4), set against a brand-new five-metre steel Christmas tree, glowing with lights, butterflies and whimsical clockwork details.

The festive magic continues with themed installations across the centre. The Express Station brings vintage Christmas train vibes, complete with a 12 Days of Christmas advent giveaway. The Bauble Drop Gift Box offers a “how did they do that?” moment, while the Gingerbread Selfie Oven lets families hop inside for a sweet snap with the Gingerbread Boy. Keep an eye out for the Unicorn Magic and Nutcracker Ballerina displays, adding extra sparkle to the seasonal atmosphere.

Children can also enjoy the Fun Factory (December 1-24), offering free arts and crafts, letters to Santa and workshops with take-home goodies.

This year’s gift-wrapping stations (December 12-24) support Wildlife Rescue, a local charity that cares for injured and orphaned animals. Volunteers will run two wrapping counters, with all proceeds donated to the organisation.

To make shopping easier, Ballito Junction will extend trading hours from December 16-24, with most stores open from 8am to 7pm or 8pm and restaurants trading later. The mall will be open on all public holidays.
