More than 60 people took part in the inaugural event on Kudu Road.

Ballito was a riot of colour on Saturday as runners and walkers came together to help build a new church.

Maybe a bit too much colour, Monique Blignaut, don’t you think?

More than 60 people took part in the 2.5km or 5km Dolfynkus Colour Run and Walk from Kudu Road.

Judy Chembayan and Roberta van der Merwe.

Event organiser Pat van Schalkwyk said the support from the community had made the day a success.

Joey Maartens with Samantha, Rita and Lizamari Finlay.

“This Colour Run was a true testament to the power of unity, joy and community generosity,” said Van Schalkwyk.

Cathy Momberg with Monique and Lynette Blignaut.

She said the proceeds would go towards building a new premises for the Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk Dolfynkus.

The Van Zyl family: Gideon, Lohan, PG, Ehlers and Elmae.

“Every cent raised will enable a dream to become a reality,” she said.

Van Schalkwyk thanked the runners, walkers, volunteers and sponsors who supported the event.

Paton Sterley and Madison Wilkinson.

“Your energy made this event unforgettable and your support ensures we can keep creating moments that matter,” she said.

Organisers are already looking ahead to next year’s event.

“We will be back, bigger and brighter, next year.”
