Crowds flock to Ballito for Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival

The popular annual event was held in Ballito for the first time after years in Durban.

A lively crowd of food and wine enthusiasts descended on Sugar Rush Park on Saturday for the Durban Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival.

Held in Ballito for the first time, the festival brought together South African wines, food and live music in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Festival-goers settled on the lawns with friends, enjoyed picnics and sampled a wide selection of wines, with live entertainment keeping the atmosphere lively throughout the afternoon.

About 50 South African wine producers were represented, offering everything from reds, whites and rosés to Cap Classique, other sparkling wines and wine-based cocktails.

There was also plenty on offer for food lovers, including sushi, salads, cheese and charcuterie boards, burgers and pizzas.

The Mixology Theatre, presented by Diageo, made its debut at the festival, giving visitors the chance to make and taste cocktails with guidance from an expert mixologist.
