Aaron McIlroy brings Rugby Mad comedy to Ballito on Wednesday
Rugby Mad is more than just a show for sports fans - it’s a universal comedy about obsession, identity and the things that bring us together.
Award-winning comedian Aaron McIlroy will take to the stage at Ashton International College in Ballito tomorrow night (Wednesday, October 14) with his new one-man comedy show, Rugby Mad.
The fast-paced production takes a humorous look at South Africa’s rugby obsession, featuring a colourful cast of characters brought to life by McIlroy.
From overenthusiastic referees and passionate coaches to die-hard supporters, Rugby Mad explores the drama, rivalries and emotions that make rugby such a big part of South African culture.
Known for his physical comedy and ability to switch effortlessly between characters, McIlroy brings the chaos of the sidelines, changing rooms and match day to the stage.
Directed by Bryan Hiles, the show combines storytelling, character comedy and familiar rugby situations.
And while rugby fans will recognise plenty of the personalities and antics, audiences do not need to know the difference between a scrum and a line-out to enjoy the humour.
The show takes place at Ashton International College, Ballito, on Wednesday, October 14. Doors open at 6pm, with the performance starting at 7pm.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.
Tickets cost R200 and are available through Webtickets or at Pick n Pay stores.
