Pimp my school

Umhlali SAPS help out at Ofizweni Primary.

Ofizweni primary school in Esenembe was treated to a well deserved makeover on Tuesday, March 3.

The director of a Gauteng based biomedical company, Amayeza Abantu, happened to be in the area recently when he asked Umhlali SAPS to nominate an underprivileged school that they thought could benefit from an improvement project.

Captain Anisa Shaik and warrant officer Vinny Pillay identified Ofizweni Primary.

The improvement project was a team building exercise for the company’s sales and marketing department.

They waterproofed the school hall’s roof, repainted the inside and outside of the hall, installed kitchen cupboards, built a jungle gym from scratch, refurbished the school desks and supplied chairs for the pupils to sit on.

To add the proverbial cherry on top, the pupils were treated to a delicious lunch.

The Umhlali SAPS expressed their thanks to Amayeza Abantu for making a tangible difference to the lives of the Ofizweni pupils and staff.
