Twelfth Night jitters

Crawford Prep takes part in Shakespeare for Schools festival.

Crawford North Coast Preparatory is the first primary school ever to take part in the Shakespeare for Schools Festival, held recently at Durban High School’s Seabrooke’s Theatre.

The children put on a performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’ that the man himself would have been proud of and was directed by drama teacher Jane Ross with costumes designed by Jill Jago, who also created elaborate Shakespearean costumes to suit the individual characters.

The production was engaging and featured plenty of fast-paced humour to entertain the crowd, lending itself to the play’s reputation as one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies.

The children fitted their roles perfectly and they are to be congratulated on their magnificent performances.
