It was a heart warming moment when grade seven pupils of Curro Mount Richmore handed over a R4700 cheque to the Specialised Rescue Unit on Wednesday, October 21.
The pupils held a soap box race and they decided to donate the money raised to their local heroes.
On behalf of Specialised Rescue Lina Collazuol thanked the group of grade seven pupils for supporting the organisation.
“The money will be used for training of the members or equipment for the team,” said Collazuol.
The pupils and parents thanked the businesses and residents who supported the soap box race day.
