Beaches Primary survivor challenge

The pupils took part in a range of events including tug of war, relay endurance and a golf ball challenge.

The Beaches Primary descended onto Salt Rock beach for a morning of competitive fun as Team Sharks and Team Dolphins went fin-to-flipper in a ‘Survivor’ themed sports day on Friday, October 23.

The pupils took part in a range of events including tug of war, relay endurance and a golf ball challenge which were complimented in true island style with a tribal march and war cries that echoed around the bay.

Inspired by South Africa’s favourite reality TV show, Survivor, the children took to the sand with tiki-torches on display for a day of marooned merriment.

School principal, Robin Knapp said it was a huge success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all pupils who took part.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in making this day possible. We have a lack of space at our school, so we made a plan,” said Knapp, who added that the themed sports day certainly will not be the last.
