Sport at Ashton ends on a high
Teams complete last fixtures before heading into exams.
This past weekend saw the end of all sporting fixtures for Ashton International College, as the students get into exam mode.
Adding to the success of the winning trail of the rugby boys, the Senior College had their best season ever in all sporting codes.
The soccer girls won their league – winning all their games, while the indoor hockey boys won the second division league by winning all their matches.
Not to be outdone, the first cricket team won their last fixture against Crawford La Lucia on Saturday, giving them eight wins from eight starts.
The team is also through to the second round of the Provincial Coca-Cola T20 Competition after topping their pool.
The first team swimmers won the first Inter-Schools KICCSSA relay gala, beating Grantleigh College, Creston College, Umhlanga College, Felixton College, and Richards Bay Christian School.
So going by the saying “a healthy body equals a healthy mind” Ashton students will probably shine on the academic front in the year-end exams.
