Diving head first to victory
Crawford College North Coast's annual championship swimming gala revealed the school has talented swimmers.
Crawford College made waves last Wednesday, January 20, when it held its annual championship swimming gala.
The school’s swimming head coach, Amy Juckes said after the successful grade eight and nine inter-class galas the week before, “it was time for the best of the best to show off their swimming talent”.
The top swimmers in each age group competed for the coveted trophy awards, and the competition was fierce.
Daisy Dixon finished top of the junior girls and took home the junior victrix ludorum trophy, while Byron Swart won the junior victor ludorum trophy.
In the senior category, Kelly Oliver was named the senior victrix ludorum, with Jason Milne clinching the senior victor ludorum in a very competitive series of heats.
“I was very impressed with the talent revealed during this event, particularly from the junior age groups” said Juckes, who said she was excited about the strength and depth of Crawford’s swimming squad.
